You too can be an appliance repair person!
| It just wouldn't be summer at the Savvy house without some expensive appliance or another needing to be replaced.... after some internet research, I have diagnosed our dishwasher problem to be a bad pump. Some time on the Sears Parts website help me estimate the cost of a new pump (and parts related to installation) to be $234, and undoubtedly countless hours and curse words trying to install it. And we'd still have the same inefficient, slightly cantankerous, 12-year-old dishwasher. Unfortunately, saving our dishwasher isn't going to be as easy or cost-effective as saving our dryer. I am going to wait for tomorrow's ads and hopefully buy me a new dishwasher! |

post a commentYikes, expensive repair. At that price point it almost seems silly to try to fix a 12 year old dishwasher when a midline new one will only cost about $300.
Isn't the Internet great? I had a problem w/ our dishwasher. After some research, I found one of the most common causes of the problem to be a clogged filter. After about 5 minutes of removing panels and hoses, I verified that that actually was the cause, and 10 min later everthing was back to normal. It was so much better than paying Sears appliance repair $85 to drop by and take a look!
