I'm procrastinating again, and I came across this nifty little article on the most trusted brands by Gen Y-ers (defined in the article as those 21-27 years old). I'm a little old by their standards to be Gen Y (missed by a year), and I don't necessarily agree with the list, but I can see the similarities in the brands they define as most trusted.
For anyone who wants to skip the article, here's the list of brands...
- Apple
- Trader Joe's
- Jet Blue
- In-N-Out Burger
- Ben & Jerry's
- Whole Foods
- Adidas
- American Apparel
- Target
- H & M clothing stores
- Levi's
- Volkswagen
- Converse
- Vitamin Water
- Red Stripe Jamaican beer
I can honestly say the only brand on the list that I have an affinity for is Apple. The others are kind of take-it-or-leave it for me, but I do think they are brands that speak to brand-conscious 20-somethings. Most of the brands I would consider trustworthy are probably to niche (Kiss My Face, Born) or too value-oriented (Honda) to be considered truly trendy.

post a commentWhoa! Those are almost all my trusted brands!!!! Seriously.
Everyone one of them with the exception of 6,8,10,12,13,14,and15. That's mostly because I don't buy the crap they sell so I don't know if they're trustworthy lol. Though I must admit I've been tempted on several occasions to buy a Passat.
This list hits home with me. Love Trader Joes, used to drive a VW Jetta, love my iMac (I also have a PC), I frequent Whole Foods, and I really really want to go to In-N-Out but don't live near one!
I'm sorta suprised Red Stripe is that high. The top 6 are definitely brands I use, though unfortunately I only get to eat In-N-Out when I'm out in west :(
