A little research, $30, and 30 minutes...
| ...and our dryer is FIXED! I can hardly believe it, but replacing the heat element was fast, easy, and cheap. Hopefully we'll get another two years out of our dryer with this repair. I also have to add that I can't recommend Dave's Repair enough. The part we ordered was cheap, got here fast, and did the job. Dave's site is a valuable resource for any homeowner or landlord and I won't hesitate to do business with him again. I'm actually looking into whether a $15 repair he recommends on his site will correct the balance/spin problem with our washing machine. Labels: appliances, DIY |

I canceled the dryer order. I am still considering buying a new washing machine. The advances in energy efficiency over the last 14 years are difficult to ignore!
I've been hanging clothes to dry for the last several months since our dryer broke. I'll go check out the web site. Heck, I just installed a muffler in the truck. Surely I can fix the dryer.
Marilyn - this is our second dryer repair, and was also well worth it! Dryer technology hasn't changed much in the last two decades, so it's worth a shot!
