tidbits...

No time for a real post, but I thought I'd throw a few things out here...
  • We gave out candy (KitKats, Almond Joy, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups) and little containers of Play-dough last night.... but we only had FIVE trick-or-treaters. I'm so disappointed, but I guess that's what you get when you live on a block with only four houses. Anyone want some Play-dough... we only have 45 containers left.
  • We made $787.82 in interest last month. We paid interest only on our mortgages.
  • My baby is a month old and weighs almost 10 pounds. I can hardly believe how big he is.
  • Baby Savvy needs a blog name. Any ideas?
  • I opened Baby Savvy's 529 account. We are contributing $250 a month, every month until he's five. Lucky kid, neither Mr. Savvy nor I had college funds.
  • We have an apartment coming open at the end of this month. It needs carpet and paint... and new renters.
  • Cloth diapering is going extremely well. The laundry is very little, a little over one extra load per week (we wash all baby laundry together, and I do 2-3 baby loads each week, which includes clothing, bedding, diapers). I'm surprised, but the diapers Mr. Savvy and I both like the most happen to be the cheapest... Chinese and Indian prefolds. They are about $1.50 each and contain even the worst messes. They also dry the fastest in the dryer or on the line. I just wish we could find a way to contain the spit-up.
  • Best costume I saw last night was our neighbor (adult) who was dressed as the game of Operation, complete with breadbasket, spareribs, water on the knee, etc. It was pretty cool.
Gotta go, things to do, baby to feed.

Keep the play-doh. Fill birthday goodie bags with it at Baby Savvy's first birthday. Or second birthday. Play-doh (unfortunately) holds up pretty well.

Can you explain your statement about the 529 account you set up. Why contribute till 5 yrs old? Perhaps reducing the amount when he is 5?

Where can I find the Chinese pre-folds and Indian pre-folds that you like so well?

Chinese and Indian prefolds can be found at CottonBabies or Green Mountain Diapers. I think I like the ones at Green Mountain a little better, but they cost a few cents more a piece.

I think "Baby Savvy" is a great blog name for a baby, but that's because I have always called my sister "Baby Sissy" and always will.

We wanted to use cloth diapers with our daughter but we had trouble finding good ones that would "hold the load," so to speak. I just figured we had a particularly colonically-gifted child, or something, but maybe we didn't have the right dipes! I will look into the sites that are selling the ones you have mentioned, although our kid is now almost totally into panties (figuratively and literally - she loves them)... it would be nice to have a good company in mind as insurance for when Baby #2 comes along. (Um, figuratively and literally, again).
