wheels
| We are picking up our new (used) car this weekend! We decided to buy my dad's old company car. I have been watching the classifieds and Craigslist for months, and looked at new vehicles, and I really think that the Impala is the most car for the money. I checked out the Honda Fit at a reader's suggestion, and while I loved it, it didn't have enough room for the car seat in the back and Mr. Savvy in the front. If we ever need to replace the Civic with another commuter car, the Fit is at the top of my list. So we are going to pay $7,295 for a 2005 Impala with new tires and high miles. After running the KBB and Edmunds pricing reports, I also purchased the Consumer Reports pricing report. It looks like we are getting the car for somewhere between $1,500 and $2,500 under private party sales price. |

post a commentThat actually is a very good deal. My friend just bought the exact same car for thousands more. I also don't think he put in much research either. Nice work.
Thanks for considering my suggestion. I can't say enough about the car. I haven't had very many passengers, so I didn't think about the leg room vs. car seat issue.
Sounds like you got a great deal on a great choice!

I agree. Good deal. I'd pull the trigger on something like that today if it were offered to me. (Currently driving a '99 Taurus w/162k miles. Runs just fine, but a change is bound to be due in the next year or two...)
I had a new Impala as a company car a few years ago and absolutely loved it! It got great mileage for a car of its size, handled like a champ, was comfy as all get out, and the insurance was reasonable. All in all, they are selling a great car and I hope it works out well for you!
