net worth update!

Just updated our net worth... good news, we broke the $250,000 mark for retirement accounts!

We are also just $8,000 shy of hitting a total net worth of $400,000. If we included our cars in the number we would be there.

We also have some cash set aside that isn't included in the number, but I don't know where I want to put it yet so it doesn't have a spot.

As a long time reader, I'd really like to know:

1. How much do you earn?
2. How much does Mr. Savvy earn?
3. How much income do you get from your apartment bldg?
4. What's your average monthly cost of living (total expenses)?
5. What city/state do you live in to get an idea of your cost of living?

You are asking for a lot of personal information and I find it slightly ironic that you are doing so anonymously.

I don't know why you would want all that info, you can ball park it with information that is already on the site.

Well, the reason it's relevant to know your income is because it puts your savings in context.

Otherwise, it doesn't mean much that you're paying down debt and saving a lot because we don't know where your starting point is.

If the blog is all about personal finance, then I don't find that it's too "personal" at all to ask about your income... Personal questions would be stuff not related to your finances.

The breakdown of the source of our income is hardly relevant. The total is all that counts, unless your goal is judgement.

If you read the blog you will find what you need.
